Use Re-Usable Shopping Bags and Recycle Plastic Bags When you Get them

A local community posted that plastic bags should not be put in the recycle bin.  Plastic bags clog up the machinery that is used to sort recyclables.

The best thing to do is acquire fewer plastic bags when you are shopping. Then, you can recycle the ones you do acquire at most grocery stores.

Take reusable shopping bags with you to the stores!

My family has a bag called BOB. Bob is our “Bag of Bags.” We have one for each car so there is always a BOB where/when you need it.

It’s impossible to avoid plastic bags all together. For those, collect them and drop them off at the grocery store (there is usually a receptacle for plastic bags by the entrance/exit).
