PUT Haiku

I found this book with a wonderful vintage (1971) looking illustration on the cover hoping that it contained songs.  It’s such a great book that I wasn’t even disappointed that the book has Haiku poetry which really can’t be sung.  The pictures and the poems are delightful throughout.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

At the end of the book, the editor suggests that the reader give a go at writing haiku and make pictures.

When I read the poems with Eloise she quickly came up with a haiku for the illustration of plane earth:

Earth PUT Haiku

Earth makes happiness
Please don’t dump your yucky trash
Thank you for your time

Outside of an elementary school, it seems wrong that these things were laying on the street or in the grass.  The answer?  PUT.
