Eloise and I went on a PUT Expedition yesterday and filled a bag with trash. We don’t photograph every expedition, but if we have a camera handy and we can draw attention to litter in our community, then it’s probably a good thing to do. Nobody should litter. But if you see litter, Pick Put the Trash and PUT it where it belongs in the recycle or designated trash receptacle!
I was particularly disappointed to see littered remnants from a birthday party (paper plates with icing stuck, paper cups, and spent juice boxes) held in a pretty little park in our lovely Westover area.
It’s a nice thing to have a birthday party in a park, but it only seems right that the party giver should take responsibility for the trash and pick it all up before leaving. We should never leave garbage in our wake.
I love the idea of leaving a place better than how we found it. That is what we should all take the responsibility to do.

If you see litter, please pick it up! Because if you don’t give a hoot, whoooooo will?
